The following people are allowed to make notifications for Birth Registration:
The father or mother of the child, of both the father and mother
The legal guardian of the child
If the child is born in a hospital, or brought to a hospital within 24 hours after birth- the person in charge of the hospital
A registered medical practitioner, midwife, nurse, or another person present at the birth
The person at whose house the birth took place
The village chief, a local leader or clergyman
A member of the family
Any person knowing the birth
CRIM allows notification of Death Registration from:
A member of the family of the deceased
Owner or occupant of the building in which a death occurred
Medical or health worker
Village chief, local leader, or clergyman
Register them as soon as they are born.
CRIM has supplied each provincial hospital with a person who will help with registration, and with providing the newborn baby with a legal identity.
